Cooking for your dog ensures he is getting the best food possible. Treats can also be homemade to really spoil your dog.

Stew with Gravy

Step 1

Steam one cup of diced vegetables and one sweet potato that has been diced until they are cooked but still firm. Combine at least two types of vegetables but avoid things such as broccoli that may cause gas.

Step 2

Cut one pound of stew meat into bite-size chunks. Brown the meat in a tablespoon of vegetable oil until it is cooked through. Remove the meat from the pan but leave the grease in place.

Step 3

Pour a half-cup of flour into the grease and mix well until it is browned. Slowly add in a half-cup of water and stir slowly. Continue cooking on low heat and stirring until the gravy is thick.

Step 4

Mix the stew meat, vegetables and sweet potato into the gravy and stir until well blended. Allow the mixture to cool before serving. Feed two to three cups each feeding. Refrigerate leftovers.

Creamy Beef

Step 1

Boil two cups of chicken, off the bone. Ground beef can be used if chicken is not available. Allow to cool.

Step 2

Add three cups of uncooked oatmeal, two tablespoons of plain yogurt and one apple that has been chopped very finely. Mix all ingredients until they are thoroughly blended.

Step 3

Feed one to two cups of this to your dog when she has an upset stomach or is feeling badly. A few days of this recipe should perk her up.
